HELP! We need volunteers to help us run this meet

The Kent Primary Schools Championships on Sunday 22 March 2026 at Hartsdown Pool, Margate in the morning, WU 9am start 9.30am , finish 12pm noon, are  short of officials and timekeepers. If you are qualified, in training, or just willing to help out ( I have stop watches) although we also have, courtesy of kind hosts Thanet SC, full electronic timing, so if you are a bit rusty/inexperienced in holding a stop watch, the time you take would just be a "back-up" time usually, so do not worry if you press the stop watch in error!  See you in the officials room at  8.45am. Travel expenses will be paid and you will receive a bottle of wine. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.  We should be finished by 12pm midday. It would be great if you would kindly volunteer your services to help school swimming in Kent. Just  kindly  let me know johngking119@live.com if you can make it ASAP. Huge thanks!

Massive thanks to Thanet SC, once again, for their wonderful support of School Competitive Swimming in Kent by kindly hosting this event.

ESSA Relay rules. A brief summary

Full details are via the third black button above or via the fourth black button above in the order of events file.

Relay Swimmers must come from year 5 and or 6 only. No swimmers from younger years are allowed. Relays are 4x25m Free and also 4x25m Medley. Swimmers may not dive in on legs 2 and 4 but start in the water. Swimmers in legs 2, and 4 must keep a hand touching the wall before setting off after an incoming swimmer touches the wall ( a foot still touching the wall is not enough). The order and type of stroke allowable in the medley relay races is as follows for Large schools category and also for Open schools category it is Backstroke, Breaststroke, (Butterfly or Breaststroke) and Freestyle. For Small schools category it is Backstroke, Breaststroke, (Any Stroke), and Front Crawl.

"Freestyle" means any stroke apart from backstroke, breaststroke or butterfly. Small schools usually tend to opt for Backstroke, Breaststroke, Front Crawl and Front Crawl. But that is not allowed for Large and Open Schools, due to the third leg having to be Butterfly or Breaststroke.
