The next Kent Secondary Schools' Team Relay Championships are set for 4th Oct 2026, kindly hosted by Thanet SC. 9am WU , 9.30am start and 11.00am finish. Conditions tbc ASAP. It will be boys and girls free and medley relays (4x50m) for junior, intermediate and senior age groups ( Yrs 7&8, Yrs 9&10 and yrs 11,12 & 13 respectively), with the chance to qualify for ESSA national finals on Nov 21st in 2026. Kent medals will be awarded to the top three teams in the KSSA races on Oct. 4th. There is also provision for mixed relay teams (2 boys and 2 girls) in each age group as well if required once again. A brand new initiative from ESSA this year in 2026 is to allow yr 10 swimmers to compete as part of the senior team for schools with no sixth form i.e. no years 12&13.. So their senior team will be comprised of yr 10&11 swimmers, rather than just yr 11 swimmers. They may not also swim for the school intermediate teams. That will be comprised still of yr9&10 swimmers, but exclude anyone who swam/will swim for the senior team later in the day.
